Seven tales of mystery and the supernatural for a winter’s evening.
Here’s my review: When I began reading this collection of stories, I imagined supernatural tales full of shivers and intrigue. I wasn’t expecting graphic scenes of lust-filled and satanic ritualistic sex and sacrifice. That particular tale is not for the faint hearted or those of a delicate nature, and don’t judge me but I was compelled to read on…
The writing was at times poetic, fast-paced, engaging, and always rich.
The settings and characters were well written in my opinion, particularly in the more gothic or historic scenes. Every story felt completely individual but with recurring themes running through them of identity (never as it appeared), love/lust (twisted or otherwise), and horror (from the insidious to the downright gory).
Overall I enjoyed this collection and recommend it for bookworms who dare to enter the dark side this Halloween
