Let’s Get Published by Val Penny

Thanks to the author, publisher and Love Books Tours for the copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.

Have you ever seriously tried to write a book? I don’t mean musing, “I’d love to write a book,” then forgetting all about it until the next bucket list discussion or existential crisis arises. Perhaps you’ve actually written one and it’s quietly saved somewhere, judging you, while you try and figure out what to do next… This book could well be just the one you need to help turn those dreams of being a published author into a reality!

I was excited at the chance to participate in this book tour as I’m an aspiring author and am currently working on a novel. I’ll hold my hand up though and confess that I was confused about what to do once the typing stops despite having devoured countless articles, blogs and vlogs on the subject.

In just 101 pages, Val Penny has condensed a mass of information into a reader- (and writer-) friendly guide about how to take that next step. From beta readers and editing options, to cutting unnecessary charters or scenes, the author provides helpful advice and clarity based on her experience and knowledge of the industry.

In Let’s Get Published I feel like I’ve found a friendly mentor who will provide reassurance and trustworthy advice. I’d happily recommend this for any budding author who is serious about publishing their work.
