Well, hello there and thank you for joining me! The fact that you’re on my humble blog in the first place suggests that you’re a bookworm too; please make yourself at home, take a look around and if the kettle is still warm, I’ll have a cuppa with milk and one sugar please. If anyone is stumbling around in a state of confusion, looking instead for posts on bread-making or bicycles, I think you turned right instead of left at the end of the blog corridor…
How rude of me, I haven’t even introduced myself yet: I’m Jo, a lifelong bookworm who would happily spend all day reading and writing if possible but life has a knack of getting in the way of that. I’m a mum to two ‘tweenagers’ and three cats. I also work full time so life can get a little messy at times, as you probably guessed from the pile of books next to you.
I started a blog because it’s something I’ve wanted to do for years but never found the right time to do it. In the words of the late, great Robin Williams in “The Dead Poets Society” I decided to “seize the day” and stop making excuses. After all, the pile of laundry will wait until tomorrow, I’m sure. I also figured that focusing on at least one book I already own each week might help to soothe the groans of my sagging bookshelves; they’re filled to bursting with stories and worlds just waiting to be explored but often shunned for novels loaned from friends and my local library, or shiny new books which leap into my virtual or real shopping basket whenever I’m nearby.
For an introvert, I’m a bit of a chatterbox so hopefully we can share a few chuckles along the way too. It’s not all about me though, so I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments of posts. If you’re also a quiet sort and would prefer to contact me privately, please feel free to do so using the Contact link somewhere up above – just mind your head when you look up for it…!
“Fill your house with stacks of books, in all the crannies and all the nooks.” – Dr. Seuss

Love this, so warm and friendly!

Hello! I’m more a bookworm since lockdown! I’ve always enjoyed reading though and like to escape in a book whether it’s fiction or non-fiction. Great Intro and look forward to a bookworm adventure 😬
